Reforestation is the most powerful and tangible solution against climate change to which we can all directly contribute
The term Colo in Latin means “to cultivate”. In this single word we have tried to enclose all the meaning of a project born to get more and more people involved in reforestation projects.
We are a group of young friends who have decided to make time, passion and skills available for a project that is as simple as it is ambitious and non-profit.
There are already many realities that deal with planting trees around the world but finding the right one is often difficult.
Our goal is to allow anyone to contribute with just a few clicks.
Why do we do this? Because reforestation has been scientifically recognized as one of the most powerful solutions to climate change proposed so far (find the research here).
We would all like to act more personally to counteract the changes underway, but often we don’t find the concrete way to do it. At Colo, we believe that planting trees and trying to save the planet should be as fun and easy as watching a TV series.
This is why we decided to share platforms, projects and associations that also offer a recurring service, just like for TV series or music streaming platforms, to make even minimal donations to plant trees around the planet.
This way we can all together support organizations whose goal is to restore healthy forests and reduce extreme poverty in areas affected by deforestation.
Why is it so important to fight deforestation?
Deforestation is one of the main causes of climate change, as it reduces the amount of oxygen produced by forests also causing the loss of natural habitat for thousands of animals, at the same time aggravating poverty in villages that depend on agriculture.
Where will the trees be planted?
In Haiti, Nepal, Madagascar, Indonesia and Kenya and in many other countries on the planet. Many of these countries are severely affected by the consequences of climate change and suffer from poverty.
