Frequently asked questions

Can planting trees really cost so little?

Yes, because everything starts from a small seed, planted and cared for together with thousands of other seeds in a cultivation called the nursery. The cost covers all expenses including nursery costs, transporting the seedlings to the reforestation site, planting them, protecting them and weeding them a little later in the season to give them a head start over all the greenery that would be competing. Occupancy and administration costs are included in the price of the tree.

Where are the trees planted?

In Haiti, Nepal, Madagascar, Indonesia and Kenya and in many other countries on the planet. Find out all the information on the Trillion Tree Campaign website.

What is the survival rate of the planted trees?

It depends on the individual project and varies according to the species and the cultivation site but is around 85%. Furthermore, it has been observed that between three and five years of age, young trees of some species begin to proliferate naturally, bringing an impact even greater than 150% compared to the number of trees initially planted.

What species of trees come to sleep?

Only trees of native species are planted, which vary from country to country. No invasive species are planted or introduced at any of the project sites. While true reforestation remains the primary focus, we also source agroforest species percentage for sustainable community use.

How much CO2 can a tree absorb?*

The amount of CO2 absorbed by a tree can vary according to various parameters such as species, life span, size and geographical location of the plant. Based on some studies carried out, it has been calculated that a mangrove forest can absorb up to 308 kg per tree during its existence.
